Chianti Classico 2024 – Clivo Altura

From the Vagliagli vineyard, a terraced amphitheater at 530 m.a.s.l. facing north-east towards the hills of Radda and Gaiole. The soils are those of the Chianti "macigno", a skeleton of quartz-feldspathic sandstone rocks.

Double grape sorting, then vinification with 80% whole berry and 20% whole cluster. Spontaneous fermentation, then large oak barrels for 14 months. No filtration. A juicy yet extremely elegant Chianti Classico, an altitude Sangiovese at 12.5% alcohol: vibrant, full fruit, great verticality. It has flesh and no green notes... Delicious...
